YAMAGA,Seika lived only for textile-dyeing in Kyoto. He was born in 1885, lifted up the life of 80 years until 1981 to textile-dyeingart.
He announced his works to a lot of exhibitions and selected as one of Japanese art member in 1957, also selected as cultural contributor in 1969.
He made many wonderful work with romance like folding screen, soft furnishings, etc. He is receiving high acclaim as a creator of modern textile-dyeing.
He has passed away in 1981, so his works are very valuable and hard-to-find.

He has passed away in 1981, so his works are very valuable and hard-to-find. This time, because a certain collector had parted with one of the collections, it was possible to obtain this work.
This work named "Joy". This Maru-obi is a masterpiece firmly woven by the hand.
Ground color is beautiful purple, picture that flowers bloomed over field of clouds is drawn.
He didn't have any successor, and the work that succeeded to his works is not made after his death.
This work made when he was 79 years old, and whats exhibited in the 7th new Nitten(The Japan Fine Arts Exhibit) as a judge.
This Obi is designed to display in a vastness space showing off its length by hanging from top.
You can decorate this work on the wall as the eccellent interior.

TAMANAHAYUKO's introduction
1936 Born in the Okinawa Prefecture Ishigaki island 1961 Started to learn BINGATA technique from SHIROMA,Eiki who is honor of 14 generations of SHIROMA Family. 1975 Started one of technique of dyeing "BINGATA Two sided dye" . This technique became to be one of representative of TAMANAHA's technique.
1996 Recognized as a important intangible cultural heritage of "BINGATA" technique holder.
Also recognized as a living national treasure. |

Do you know "YOU SUI TOKU" ?
YUDUITOKU is a person who lived in the Showa era end since beginning of Taishou era, and it has already died.
YUSUITOKU had lived in Kanazawa and Kyoto. He experienced the time of high economic growth fighting and afterwards.
YUSUITOKU seemed to start working in Kanazawa, and, at first, to have studied from the dye of back fabric of Haori or Gakuura. He seems that vision and the sketch power that is the base of the design might have been excellent.
