1936 Born in the Okinawa Prefecture Ishigaki island 1961 Started to learn BINGATA technique from SHIROMA,Eiki who is honor of 14 generations of SHIROMA Family. 1975 Started one of technique of dyeing "BINGATA Two sided dye" . This technique became to be one of representative of TAMANAHA's technique.
1996 Recognized as a important intangible cultural heritage of "BINGATA" technique holder.
Also recognized as a living national treasure. |

Do you know "YOU SUI TOKU" ?
YUDUITOKU is a person who lived in the Showa era end since beginning of Taishou era, and it has already died.
YUSUITOKU had lived in Kanazawa and Kyoto. He experienced the time of high economic growth fighting and afterwards.
YUSUITOKU seemed to start working in Kanazawa, and, at first, to have studied from the dye of back fabric of Haori or Gakuura. He seems that vision and the sketch power that is the base of the design might have been excellent.
